First Intern
Our first intern, is Diego Casanova. Diego is from Chile and has come to us through Cristian Heinsen from Fundación Altiplano:
“I grew up in a little town on the coast of central Chile. When I finished school I went to university; first taking biology and then engineering, looking for knowledge about sustainable management of the resources. During the pandemic I got closer to carpentry work and I really liked the construction-craft and the way you learn from experienced people. I started working in buildings and looking for good carpenter masters. Working in different buildings I realized the high impact and amount of rubbish created in the modern building industry, so I got really interested in respectful materials of less impact like the mud, so I took this opportunity to learn about traditional adobe buildings and restoration, going as an intern to Talleres en Mesilla”
